Italy
Updated August 5, 2005

We left Corfu and 50 miles later the Italian aerobatic team welcomed us to Italy (actually there was an airshow over Otranto harbour).

My brother and his family were visiting Italy so we made arrangements to meet in Rome. I'd  tried to make train reservations from Otranto to Rome over the internet but was unsuccessful, only to learn later the train doesn't go to Otranto.

so we took a bus to Lecce where we boarded the train for Rome

mid way through the 6 hour trip we got a taste of Dante's Inferno when
the airconditioning broke down

We finally got to Rome and had a busy day touring the Vatican, final count was only two family members lost and found.
everyone is still smiling

we had a quick tour of the Colosseum before we headed back to Otranto
